Student of the Month - November 2025 - Paul
🌟🧘♀️STUDENT OF THE MONTH🧘♀️🌟
🌟November 2025 Student of the month is……Paul Taylor!!
Usually, our Student of the Month spotlight goes to someone who’s been practicing for years… but this time I wanted to mix things up. I thought it would be interesting for everyone to hear from someone who’s right at the start of their yoga journey — to show what’s possible when you begin, stay open, and just keep showing up 🙌
Enter Paul 💫
Since joining us in May, he’s brought his bright, friendly energy into every class — the kind of person who walks in smiling, chats to everyone, and instantly makes the room feel lighter. From day one he committed to two classes a week, throwing himself into the practice with curiosity, consistency, and a real willingness to learn. And honestly? You can see the difference. His progress has been steady, strong, and completely earned through his own dedication 🌿
Watching him grow, not just in the poses, but in his understanding and ease — has been such a joy. Paul is a valuable reminder that you don’t need years behind you to start feeling the shift… you just need heart, presence, and a little courage to begin 💚
❓Tell us a little about yourself …..
🧘🏼♂️ Paul Taylor, 63, married, I have three daughters, hence prematurely grey at 30 😉 ...! I have three grandchildren, one from each of the girls; two granddaughters and a grandson, all at school, the eldest will be a teenager next year, so that makes me feel quite old!!
I am retired and live in East Chinnock, where I am the tower captain for the bellringers, I also teach ringing, so I'm quite patient!
I enjoy walking, cycling, motorcycling and reading, I would also like to go back to swimming when I find a pool that does lane swimming
❓How long have you been practicing yoga?
🧘🏼♂️ I started practising yoga in May 2025 with my wife. I attend the Monday class with her to show support and I also attend the Friday morning class to challenge myself!
❓What made you start yoga?
🧘🏼♂️ I had tried yoga many years ago, not for long, and always wanted to come back to it to see if I could stick to it!
❓What’s your favourite pose?
🧘🏼♂️ Chair shoulder stand at the moment, would like to progress to full shoulder stand! And Savasana, that goes without saying....!
❓What’s your favourite prop?
🧘🏼♂️Blanket 😁
❓How has practicing yoga benefitted your life?
🧘🏼♂️I am more flexible, more relaxed, although that could be down to giving up work, I guess and my posture has improved whilst walking
❓What makes you keep practicing?
🧘🏼♂️I like meeting new people now that I'm retired, and as i get older I want to stay strong, mobile and flexible, yoga is a good low impact form of exercise that is helping me achieve this
❓Anything else you’d like to add?
🧘🏼♂️I have always been active and I believe that yoga is important to help maintain core strength and balance as I get older, rather than going to the gym, which became groundhog day!
Well done Paul! And thank you for sharing your yoga journey with us! ❤️🙏
